JR won his class at several specialties in the Midwest. He placed in a large American-Bred class at the 1998 BCOA national specialty in Wiscosin. Along with his litterbrother, Rush, and half-sister Terra, JR helped his sire win a placement in the stud dog class at the 1998 BCOA national specialty.

JR finished with a 5 point major at a BCOA supported show, August 14, 1999, with handler KC.

Except for a two point win with handler Grant Winchell, JR was always owner handled by Steve and KC.

JR competed in one AKC lure coursing trial, winning one point and one senior courser leg. JR was a handsome boy, with a sweet, quiet temperament. As he got older his gold spots faded to cream. JR loved puppies. He helped raise several puppies at the Artley's home. Pictured below at 11 years old with Maverick.
